Motorola launches E6 in the US and Canada

Well, Motorola has a few upcoming smartphones up its sleeves in the Moto series. Presenting the budget-ranged Motorola Moto E6 that was launched in the United States earlier today with a price tag of $149.99 which roughly translates to 10,300/- INR.

Our major concern with the device is Motorola hasn’t done much with the new E6 as it showcases only minor upgrades over its predecessor E6. The Moto E6 has a 5.5-inch IPS HD+ display with a resolution of 1440×720 with 296 PPI and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Compared to the last year’s E5, the Moto E6 has a smaller display as Motorola has trimmed almost 0.2-inch diagonally. The device has its huge chin, forehead, and bezels around its edges which are here to stay citing the fact that it is a budget-friendly smartphone and its own compromises to cope up with.

Apart from the display, Motorola has cut back on the battery size from 4,000 mAh in E5 to a mere 3,000 mAh on E6 which is a massive downgrade since battery size has become one of the most crucial selling points in smartphones without any doubt.

But not everything is a journey downhill with Moto E6 as it has an enhanced SDM425 1.4 GHz octa-core processor that promises improvement in performance compared to the SoC used in last-gen E5. The Adreno 505 GPU will handle the graphics optimally while the 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM are strategically placed w.r.t. its budget category.

But at least it has managed to retain the 3.5mm headphone jack unlike iPhone XS irrespective of the price point. Coming to Moto E6, it is available in Starry Black and Navy Blue. It sports a single front 5MP sensor while the back gets a 13MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.0 that must click subtle if not highly detailed images.

Motorola has launched the Moto E6 at $149.99 in the United States while it will arrive in Canada soon but there are no words on whether when the OEM will release the budget phone in other markets. Motorola has also dipped the price tag of Moto E5 by $70 on Amazon although it doesn’t run on the latest Android 9 Pie like the new Moto E6.
